Protocol for Thawing Bull / Stallion Semen for the Purposes of Insemination:

•  Prepare water bath as usual – regulate water to desired temperature.

•  Place the Tri-Vortex™ Thawing Plunger Assembly into the water – make sure that water level is very close to, but not above the level of the opening in the Thawing Plunger Assembly.

•  Leave plunger in water for 5 minutes before starting the thawing process.

•  When you are ready and set up, take a straw out of the liquid nitrogen and place it upright into the opening of the Thawing Plunger Assembly (pith side of the straw pointing upwards).

•  When the thawing time has expired, remove the complete Thawing Plunger Assembly from the water bath and wipe off excess water. Place it on the counter or worktop.

•  Leave the straw in the Thawing Plunger Assembly for a further 5-7 minutes or until you are ready to inseminate.

•  When you are ready to inseminate, proceed as per usual.

For the BEST Results and Improved Success with Fertilisation:

•  During breeding season, the cows to be inseminated should wear a
Tri-Vortex™ Bovine Collar around the neck.

It is recommended for the mares to wear/use the various products such as the
Tri-Vortex™ treated blankets and other leather products – please ask for details.

•  These cows/mares should definitely be drinking filtered water that is treated with a 90/180mm Tri-Vortex™ Water Disc.
